A word from the author

My firsthand experience was that it was nearly impossible to find recommendations to guide and foster my interest in anime, manga and Japanese culture. So for the last 5 years, I have been scanning library bookshelves, hearing about stuff on the bus and searching the web trying to find my way in a world that is equal parts thrilling and daunting. There was no one place I could go online to find out a little bit about manga and anime to guide my enthusiasm safely. As you know, we are all two clicks away from something that gets you grounded, banned from your console, or my least favourite, cleaning the wheelie bin, so I wanted to create something that helps someone find their anime and manga favourites, and even helps their parents and librarians understand this wonderful world.

It is my hope that by creating a website that shares my ideas about anime and manga classics, highlights new releases & Japanese awesomeness generally, that I will help a young audience engage with and enjoy anime and manga in a safe way.
