The facts:
Title: Soreike! Anpanman
Director: Akinori Nagaoka Shunji Ōga
Producer: Hinta Fyumi
Writer: Sakura Uzamacki
Series: 1492 half-hour episodes
Plot summary:
A Star of Life falls down the chimney of a bakery, causing the dough in the oven to come to life. Anpanman is the ultimate superhero with an anpan, a red bean paste-filled pastry for a head. Anpanman fights against a germ named Baikinman in order to protect the world and symbolises justice, honour, integrity and safety.
What I like most:
What I like most about Anpanman is the purity of this superhero. He protects the world. In a world drowning in a complex superhero and their worlds and rules, Anpanman represents the original superhero.

What I like least:
To be honest, I don’t like red bean paste, so if I had to name one thing, it is I am frequently thinking that when I see Anpanman.
Interesting fact:
Anpanman overtook Hello Kitty as Japan’s top-grossing character in 2002,[5] and has remained the country’s top-grossing character as of 2019 and has a dedicated Museum in Japan (https://museum.anpanman-acm.co.jp/en/)
Recommended age:
I would recommend this anime for kids aged 2-200+. This is an awesome fun anime, that has a good versus evil plot driver and who wouldn’t love a hero that protects the world and feeds it from his head. Yum!
How to explain to your parents:
Anpanman is a superhero with an anpan, a red bean paste-filled pastry for a head who fights against an evil germ to protect the world. He feeds the hungry with his head, and his uncle bakes him a new head when he needs one.
Book and other media crossover:
Anpanman began as a Japanese children’s superhero book series written by Takashi Yanase in 1973 until in 2013 before it became an anime. There are 30 feature-length films and there has been an Anpanman Christmas Special every year since 1988. Works inspired by Anpanman include the manga and anime series One-Punch Man, and the K-pop song “Anpanman” by BTS.
